Blood test for Alzheimer’s Disease?

Monday, March 17, 2014 – It appears that it may now be possible for a blood test to determine 2-3 years in advance before the symptoms start if a person will develop Alzheimer’s.  According to a paper published by Nature Medicine, the test looked at 10 levels of fats and found that 90% of the time, patients with these fats in their system went on to develop Alzheimer’s.  Although lifestyle might help slow down or avoid the disease, more research into prediction is a much needed area for Alzheimer’s, as early detection is vital.
